According to the magazines, runways, style bloggers, and stars …. the fall fashion scene is around the corner. And it’s filled with new changes. It doesn’t mean you have to go hog wild and buy all new clothes – or any. We know what we feel comfortable in, and prefer to wear, and sometimes it’s easier to stick to our comfort zone. And for those looking to break out a little and try some of the trends, check out:
- The skinny jean needs to make friends with it’s old and new buddies Flares, Bootcut, and Wideleg
- Fringe is everywhere – from your boots, coats, to your handbags
- Block heels to make a seventies look truly yours (I am a fan of the boots)
- Suede looks from dresses and skirts, to jackets
- High waist, high waist, and more high waist skirts and pants
Not feeling the vibe? That’s cool. Take it easy and focus on what you like. We’ve already worn most of these trends in the past (and if you’re lucky you still have some in your closet). Choose the ones you fall in love with. You don’t have to date them all.
For those looking for easier updates to their wardrobe consider:
- Adding olive and safari green (it’s everywhere, really) colors to your palette
- One pair of non-skinny jeans or pants. Boot cut is pretty flattering and can still make your butt look good
- The perfect pair of leather tall boots, with a different heel
- When all else fails, go with black. It will always be in style.
Choose what works for you. Because in reality, when you feel good in it, you look damn good in it.
