RD Profile of the Week: YOU

There are a lot of people to highlight. There are authors who are writing award winning novels, actors who are doing what they can for animal welfare, cancer survivors, technology mavens, and more. They will be highlighted. They will be acknowledged, because they definitely deserve it. They will be emulated, and admired, and sometimes envied.

But for a day, or even an hour, let’s appreciate someone else who is making strides.

You.

Go to your “happy place” and make a list. Literally take out a pen and paper and write down 3 things you think are awesome about you. It could be something you did that day, or something you’ve been striving for that you finally achieved. Or it could be something about your personality that you are proud of. This is no time to be shy. Be proud and show off…to yourself.

In the same vein, take time each day to give yourself a compliment.

When you’re happier and proud of who you are, you are more likely to be a happier and productive person. You’ll be ready to take on more whether it’s at work or in your personal life.

Here are my 3 things today:

1. I have a great family.

2. I went to the gym today and kicked my own ass.

3. I had two bowls of “gluten free” cereal instead of one. You are supposed to eat more at breakfast than dinner right?

They may seem silly, but they made me smile. Your turn…
