Music always sets the tone for me, whether it’s getting ready for work in morning, relaxing, cooking, or even just walking down the streets. A good song inspires me creatively, both in personal style and free thinking. I’m a self-admitted Spotify junkie, and typically listen to music far more often than I watch television.
Here are a few of my favorite tracks that have inspired me the last half of this year (the full playlist can be found here):
Holdin On- Hermitude Remix by Flume
I heard this infectious beat while tapping it back at an indoor cycling class at B/Spoke Studios. and needless to say, it’s been on repeat for me ever since. I’m not always the most coordinated, especially when it comes to- let’s say, dancing, but when I am on the bike in a choreographed cycling class, somehow my body finds the beat and my mind and body connect.
Beggin For Thread by Banks
One of the biggest reasons I love living in Boston is that you can walk practically anywhere. I love to pop in my Bose ear buds while getting from point A to point B. It’s like my own little soundtrack for what’s going on around me. This track is one of my current faves while on the go.
Comin’ Through by The War On Drugs
This song has been around for a while, but its mellow beats are reminiscent of fall to me. Maybe it’s the Bob Dylan like sound? For many, fall is a time of new beginnings, whether its school, a new job, a new routine, or even just a simple change in wardrobe. For me, this fall, it’s all of the above (well, minus school). It’s good to breathe in, relax, and savor the moment with music.

Thanks Andre! Couldn’t agree with you more re: the right song or playlist. I have a weakness for Red Hot Chili Peppers 🙂
