Last week…starting Monday morning felt like a week that was just headed down the wrong train path. I was stuck on the track and could never get back to the right place or in the right direction. I spilled matcha (yes, my favorite) all over my laptop, I overslept, I couldn’t get ahead of my home chores, and I felt like I was playing catchup in life that week. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another.
We all have those days and weeks right? But how can we auto-correct out of “duck” and get back in charge of our weeks and feel like it’s better by the end?
Here are a few things that I tried:
- Taking a walk when I needed a break from my computer
- Grabbing a cup of comforting tea to bring me back to reality and de-stress me
- Venting to a friend who would understand and actually listen
- Take a few deep breaths
- Look at cute puppy pictures online (seriously – you can’t not smile)
I admit, there are times, that I still feel frustrated, and silently swear a couple times in my head (hey, why not – it’s not out loud, right?)
I realized it’s not just the situation, but how we choose to react to it. How we choose to move forward from it. And most of it all, how we choose to find peace outside of what occurred.
