The change in temperatures can be a fresh start, but it can also lead to health issues like getting a cold when your immune system has a bit of a kick in the butt. Luckily, the founder at Thrive by Food has some helpful tips.
My favorite three out of her 9 tips include the following:
- More water – because staying hydrated is important. You’re less likely to get headaches and feel worn down if you’re drinking water throughout the day (and no the water in your coffee does not count).
- Immune Boosting foods – because what we put in our bodies, matters. I love the idea of adding more ginger and honey into my diet, especially through tea. A ginger tea to get my belly feeling better, and/or honey to my green tea to make it a little bit more of a treat.
- Exercise – because as Kristin stated in Thrive, it’s a year round thing. We have to find workouts that help us get through the colder and less appealing months. For example finding classes to take indoors, and/or adapting to the treadmill on rainy days. If you’re a true warrior, and still run outside, just finding the routes that work better on rough terrains and ensuring you have the right gear to stay warm and dry.
