Technology advancement has brought with it numerous benefits that have improved the quality of our lives. With it, however, there are also more distractions. Who hasn’t wasted time perusing Facebook at work or playing a game? Even those who don’t procrastinate often feel there’s simply not enough time in the day to get everything done. While there’s only 24 hours in a day, there are plenty of ways to optimize your time to get the most out of each one. Luckily, there are hundreds of time management apps available to help get you on track. After all, the better you manage your time, the less stress you’ll have.
Many of these apps are available for desktop and mobile, so you can be productive anywhere. While there are a few free options, to get the most out of these products, you’ll generally need to pay for a “pro” version. Although most of these sites offer a good level of security, you should add your own by using a Virtual Private Network to protect your information. Below are some of the top time management apps around. Depending on your needs, you might want to try one or all of them!
Streaks
While more of a goal tracker, Streaks is still an excellent way to keep on task by tracking your habits. You can add up to six tasks at a time and choose its frequency. You can even customize your notifications so you receive them more often in the beginning and then have them taper off as it starts to become a habit. To keep you accountable, it tracks your progress on each of your tasks. You can see your stats, so you can actually see your progress.
Trello
Beloved by many project managers, Trello is incredibly easy-to-use web app that allows you to organize all of your tasks into easy-to-manage chunks. The physical act of dragging and dropping each card from the doing to done tasks creates a great sense of accomplishment, as does the visual of actually seeing all of the cards move from one end to another. You can create as many boards as you like to break up your projects and can invite people to view and edit them as well. This makes it perfect for personal goals as well as shared ones, such as organizing a birthday party, daily chores and so on. You can assign due dates for each card and even write comments to clarify.
TeuxDeux
If you just need a simple to-do app, then TeuxDeux is the perfect one for you. At first glance it might not seem too different from simply entering in tasks in your calendar app. However, there are several benefits to using it. Unlike your normal calendar app, you can mark your tasks off as completed. Even better, if you don’t finish a task, it automatically rolls over to the next day. That way, there will always be some kind of reminder to complete tasks. All of your tasks must also be actions, so you cannot simply enter “dishes” on your list; you must say, “Wash dishes.” Perhaps the biggest draw of TeuxDeux is its flexibility. Thanks to its simple design and bare-bone features, you can organize it however is convenient for you.
myMemorizer
If you often forget things (and who doesn’t?), myMemorizer is a perfect reminder tool. Simply create a timeline of tasks you need to do and forget about them. The app will then remind you of everything you’ve entered via emails and texts. You can also create events and subscribe to shared groups. It’s perfect for remembering important dates, meetings and birthdays. The only thing you need to do is remember to input these into the app in the first place.
Wunderlist
While some of these apps allow you to share your lists with friends, Wunderlist is the only one that puts collaboration first. It can help you work together with friends, family and teammates to get projects completed. For many who need that extra push to get motivated, Wunderlist is the perfect option as you are no longer alone. You can track, complete and share your goals with a simple click of the button. You can even assign tasks and add comments.
Getting chores and important tasks completed doesn’t have to take herculean effort. All it takes is a little organization and time management. Thankfully, these apps can help you organize and take back control of your time.
