Live the life you want

Wrapped up in priorities, drive, life, and more – we forget about the life we dreamed of as a kid. We wanted to be astronauts, actresses, presidents, and superheroes. We wanted to travel the world, and live like we had no fears. We wanted to make memories that would last a lifetime. We wanted to share them our friends and family.

Somewhere along the way, we got a little stuck. Maybe not all of us (saluting those who did not), but some of us did. We got wrapped up in the minutia and forgot the dreams we had. Perhaps the dreams we had were a little “far-fetched” or no longer realistic. But today we could have evolved dreams of our past. Perhaps we still want to travel the world, perhaps we still want to be president, perhaps we still want to be a superhero or be an actress.

Do it.

Find a way to travel the world each year. Pick all the places you want to travel, put them in a list and decide which ones you’ll go to when. Or throw them in a hat, and just randomly pick. Now that would be one hell of a trip.

Be president of an association or a cause you believe in. You can make a difference in a way that matters to your community and to you.

Be a superhero to your kids and/or nieces and nephews. Show them how you have gotten to where you are. Wear a cape around them to – whey the hell not.

Be an actress by taking a class at an improv studio. Or write a novel where you are the leading actress in the story. It can be a side thing you have as a hobby – because again, why the hell not.

There is no reason you can’t still live your dreams. Time may seem like it’s running away from us at times, but we just need to say “hey, hold on – I got cool shit to do.”
